Tessenderlo Kerley’s Burley, Idaho facility has earned the Star participant designation (Phoenix, Arizona, June 2006) — Tessenderlo Kerley’s (TKI) Burley facility has been designated a Star participant by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in their Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). This facility currently produces metam sodium (Sectagon 42®), a fumigant solution for all crops for the suppression of: nematodes, fungi, bacteria, weeds, weed seeds and volunteer seeds. Designation as a VPP Star participant is a testament to the efforts of their management and plant personnel in achieving exemplary safety and health management for this location. This designation is based on TKI’s written safety and health management systems and ongoing performance. TKI’s Burley plant joins a select list of only 1071 VPP sites in the U.S. of which only 996 have achieved the “Star” designation. Only fourteen business sites within Idaho have been awarded VPP recognition. #####
