Tessenderlo Kerley’s NovaSource™ Group expands Business Team. (Phoenix, Arizona, April 15, 2008)— Tessenderlo Kerley Inc’s (TKI) NovaSource crop protection unit announced today the addition of Pete Barrows as International Business Director and Kurt Volker as Director of Product Development. These additions to the business team are the result of the acquisitions of the Surround® business from BASF and the Sinbar® business from DuPont. Barrows has joined NovaSource as its International Business Director. Barrows has responsibility for the NovaSource product line outside of the USA and Canada. In addition, he is the product manager for Surround®, TKI’s recent acquisition from BASF. Barrows has worked in the crop protection industry since 1988. Most recently, as the general manager of the worldwide Surround business where he spent eight years taking Surround from early stage development to a commercial business. Prior to this time, he spent 10 years with FMC as the expatriate zone manger for Central America, the global development manager for two new herbicides, and as the marketing manager for non-crop markets. Barrows will continue to be based at Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Volker has joined NovaSource as Director of Product Development. Volker has responsibility for all NovaSource product development on a worldwide basis. Volker will provide technical service to support sales activity working with the account management team. Volker has worked for TKI for the past 7 months as a consultant. He holds a Ph.D. in Entomology specializing in Integrated Pest Management and has worked in the crop protection industry since 1978. Volker was a Senior Research and Development Scientist for Syngenta Crop Protection and previously was employed in product development for Zeneca Ag Products and ICI Americas in the Pacific Northwest. Volker will continue to be based at Yakima, Washington. Barrows and Volker will report to David Cassidy, TKI Group Vice-President and General Manager of the NovaSource business unit. NovaSource (www.novasource.com) is TKI’s business unit, charged with developing and marketing registered pesticides for niche crop protection and specialty markets.
