NovaSource Director of Product Safety, Kevin Henry, Ph.D., Wins Prestigious CropLife Workhorse Award
Phoenix, Ariz. – Sept. 27, 2016 – Kevin Henry, Ph.D., Director of Product Safety for NovaSource since May 2015, has received a 2016 Workhorse Award from CropLife America (CLA).
The Workhorse Award recognizes significant and progressive contributions that support the crop protection industry as serving a key role in the production of a safe, affordable and abundant food supply for U.S. consumers.
Dr. Henry has been an active participant in several key CLA working groups and initiatives for more than a decade, including the Ecotoxicology Working Group, Environmental Risk Assessment Committee, and Endangered Species Issue Management Team.
He was also the co-chair of the Ecotoxicology Working Group during the past three years, where he led and contributed to numerous discussions with regulatory authorities and presentations at scientific meetings.
“It is very exciting to receive this award because CropLife America is the major trade association in our industry," Dr. Henry said. “TKI/NovaSource is active within CropLife at multiple levels, from the Operating Board, to the Strategic Oversight Committee, to the Science Working Groups. This recognition from the trade association shows that a smaller company like TKI can help set the direction for development of our industry at a national level," Dr. Henry said.
In his role at NovaSource, Dr. Henry works to oversee TKI crop protection product registrations with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other regulatory agencies.
NovaSource is the crop protection business unit of TKI and is responsible for developing and marketing crop protection products for niche agricultural markets globally.
TKI produces and markets specialty chemical solutions, including fertilizers, crop protection chemicals and process chemicals and services to diverse markets around the world. TKI operates 11 manufacturing plants in North America in addition to an extensive terminal network. TKI is a subsidiary of Tessenderlo Group, Brussels, Belgium.
